At South 71 Veterinary Clinic, we provide 24/7 emergency care for both pets and livestock, ensuring immediate attention when every second counts. Our main office in Willmar, MN, handles all emergency services, and one of our veterinarians will always be on call.
Whether it’s a sudden illness, injury, or critical condition, our experienced veterinarians are equipped to handle urgent situations with skill, compassion, and dedication.
What Do I Do If I Have a Pet Emergency?
When our clinics are closed, South 71 Veterinary Clinic provides on-call emergency care after hours. If your pet or livestock is experiencing an emergency, please follow these steps:
Call our clinic phone number: 320-235-7396.
Listen to the voicemail message until you hear the tone/beep.
Leave a detailed message including the type of emergency, your name, and—most importantly—your phone number. Please keep your line open so the veterinarian can return your call.
The on-call veterinarian will be notified and will attempt to return your call as soon as possible.
After speaking with the veterinarian, a treatment plan will be discussed. If needed, you will be asked to meet the veterinarian at the clinic.
What to Keep in Mind During a Pet Emergency

The Willmar clinic always has a veterinarian on-call. While they may not be physically at the clinic at the time of your call, they will be available to respond.
All emergencies for our Granite Falls and Montevideo clinics are handled at the Willmar location only.
If the veterinarian is delayed in returning your call, it may be due to another emergency or a temporary technical issue.
If you do not hear back in a timely manner, please call again to ensure your message is received.
